Overview

Shred-Tech® custom designs and manufactures Plastic Shredding Systems to reclaim post consumer and industrial plastic wastes. Dual and four shaft shredders are often used to reduce large molded items, purgings, engineered plastics, film, etc., so that they may be further granulated for reuse in molding or directly to extruding.

Pre-shredding plastic materials prior to granulation provides the following benefits:

Shred-Tech®’s ST line of Dual Shaft Shredders and STQ line of Four Shaft Shredders are used in a variety of applications such as plastic drum reduction, the shredding of stretch film, and the reduction of packaging materials. Shred-Tech® also designs systems, which recycle post consumer plastics into plastic lumber, reclaim nylon from post consumer carpeting, and destroy consumer products to reclaim packaging and prevent liability prior to disposal. Shred-Tech®’s Plastics Reduction Systems continue to broaden the scope of recyclable plastic products.

Sheet ST-25EL Michigan
ST-25EL size reducing stamped sheet from thermoforming c/w dischrge conveyor feeding a granulator. The shredder replaced a pinch roller ahead of the granulator to enable feeding of unstamped formed parts. A DC drive motor is incorporated with the shredder gear reducer to facilitate fast and frequent shredder stoppages to prevent pull on the thermoform dies between process cycles.
Baled Post Consumer STQ-50EL Ontario, Canada
STQ-50EL shredding bales of post consumer plastic waste as feedstock for waste to energy facility.
Molded Containers STQ-50ES Angola
STQ-50ES shredding used pre-washed 5 gallon to 55 gallon petroleum containers prior to granulation for recycling. The shredder included a ram hopper to facilitate shredding of the larger containers.
Baled Film ST-150H Kentucky
ST-150H shredding baled film feeding a large extruder. The 1200 lb. bales are directly loaded into the shredder by a fork lift.
Tolling ST-150H New Jersey
ST-150H shredding all kinds of plastic scrap prior to granulating. This system featured a bin tipper for bulk loading large containers and a conveyor for loose scrap.
Film ST-100H Pennsylvania
ST-100H shredding film, purgings and rolls directly into a pelletizing line. The shredder infeed methods included a bin tipper for bulk loading of large containers, a conveyor for loose scrap and a reel for roll feeding. The system also featured discharge conveyor with magnetic pulley and a metering surge capacity conveyor system with metal detection.
Molded Containers ST-100E Pennsylvania
ST-100E shredding containers, tanks, drums etc. prior to granulation for recycling. A ram hopper on the shredder is used to facilitate shredding of larger containers.
Film ST-75H Maryland
ST-75H shredding sheets and purgings directly into densifiers. The system features a bin tipper for bulk loading from a gaylord box and a bi-directional discharge conveyor to feed two pelletizing lines. The hydraulic shredder was selected for frequent start/stop sequence due to the small extruder size.
Film ST-75E Oklahoma
ST-75E shredding film directly into a single densifier. This system is conveyor fed to control feed into a single densifier.
Film ST-75ES California
ST-75ES shredding sheets and roll ends feeding directly into densifiers. The system features a bin tipper for bulk loading from a gaylord box and a bi-directional discharge conveyor to feed two pelletizing lines.
