The ST-400 Industrial Shredder, one of Shred-Tech®’s most powerful shredders, can slice its way through auto and truck tires, municipal and industrial waste, thick metals, solid wood, green waste, and so much more. It features a heavy-duty drive system increasing productivity and serviceability so that you can get more done in a day. Its large cutting chamber is 46” wide and is available in various lengths This shredder is capable of hanling bulkier loads with greater ease and efficiency. Offering enhanced durability with its new cast steel body design, the industrial shredder also features bulkhead walls and labyrinth barriers at each end of the cutting chamber for excellent bearing and seal protection. Additionally, replacement of the bearing and sale is easily accomplished without the need of gearbox disassembly.

Standard Features for the ST-400
There are a number of high-quality standard features that are included with the ST-400 Industrial Shredder. Each component is engineered to provide reliable support to the rest of the shredding system, ensuring that the machine is operating at maximum capacity. In addition to easily removeable sectional cleaning fingers and a lightweight chamber plate designed for quick cutting chamber disassembly, the shredder machine also features highly sharp knives, durable hex shafts, and easy-to-use control panel. Additionally, the shredder is available with single or dual electric motors ranging from 75-250 HP.
Knives
Superior durability and higher serviceability is evident when you take a look at the heavy-duty knives that take up our entire cutting chamber. These knives are built with a sharp tip that is more than capable of piercing right into the product, biting down hard, and ripping it apart until there’s nothing leftover but scraps. Each knife profile and configuration are designed by our engineers to suit the application, allowing for maximized throughput and optimized shred size. These knives are tough enough to rip through steel, wood, metal, and so much more.
Hex Shafts
The hex shaft is uniquely designed to maximize knife placement options so that you experience optimized shredding use for a wide variety of applications. The hex shaft works together with the knives to guarantee maximum shred size on the materials. The shaft is easy to access for easier knife removal and machine maintenance. It is several times stronger than a keyed shaft, and maximizes the knife-tip cutting force.
Control Panel
The ST-400 control panel is designed by Shred-Tech® engineers and built in house by our certified technicians. It features a large screen HMI, a keyed power switch, fused lockable disconnect, an hour meter, and a programmable logic controller for shredder functions, including automatic overload detection and knife reversal. This panel puts the entire shredding process right into your hands, allowing you to take full control to ensure that the system is working just how you want.

In-Feed & Out-Feed Conveyor
Designed to make the job so much more convenient for your workers, the in-feed conveyor and out-feed conveyor work flawlessly with the rest of the shredder machine. These reliable components work together to keep the workflow moving smoothly with minimal to no interruptions. The in-feed conveyor moves the materials directly into the shredder while keeping your workers away from the blades. The out-feed conveyor then transfers the shredded remains away from the machine for easier management.
